New-York Historical Society Student Historian Internship

This week we are featuring New-York Historical Society’s Student Historian Internship Program. The internship has two sessions: one during the school year, and during the summer.

As a student historian, you will learn to professionally collaborate with others, work in a professional setting and better your writing skills all while learning more about history. In doing the program, you will complete projects and interact with the museum and your peers in order to learn. One example of a theme offered is Women & The American Story , which describes the deep and underrepresented history of women all the way from the 15th century to modern times.

If you enjoyed your completed time being a student historian, you have the option to apply to be a teen leader. Select student historians with demonstrated financial need will receive a stipend, however all teen leaders get paid. There are two types of teen leaders: Education Teen Leaders and Family Programs Teen Leaders. You can read about both, and their differences, in the link down below.

If you want more information, visit our Instagram to watch Jillian Louie, a former student historian and current teen leader, describe her experiences and time she spent with the New-York Historical Society.

As always, if you want a program or organization to be featured, please reach out to us!
