The Figuring it Out Pod

This week’s opportunity is special because it is a super unique one: a friend of the website, Ashleigh Garrison, who interviewed the co-editors for an article in Chalkbeat, is looking for two high schoolers to help her out with her podcast! No prior experience is needed, and for both positions email amg2375@columbia.edu with a resume (if you have one- not needed!), a brief introduction, and a description of why you want the position!

The first position is for a podcast production assistant. The duties wold vary from week to week but would generally include drafting emails, social media content, doing research, and pitching interview questions. There’s a huge variety in what this could offer, and if you’re interested in the election this could be great for you as they have a special series on that coming up!

The second position is a podcast researcher and newsletter writer. In addition to everything mentioned before, this position is very writing based so if you have some writing samples (maybe something you want to publish on the outsiders guide…) send it over! The duties with this job will revolve around a bi-weekly newsletter which needs to be researched, written, and figured out!
